House Natural Resources Committee to hold first meeting of year

The
House Natural
Resources Committee will hold its first meeting of the 112th Congress.
The committee will adopt the
rules, an
oversight plan and adoptĀ a
staff hiring resolution.
The oversight plan states that the new
Subcommittee
on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs will have 10 major items on its agenda.
They are: Budget and Spending Review; Federal Barriers to Economic and Energy Development on Indian Land; Cobell v. Salazar Settlement Implementation; Trust Reform; Fee-to-Trust Issues, including Carcieri v. Salazar; Alaska Natives; Natural Resources Management on Indian Reservations; Tribal Law and Order Act Implementation; Indian Health Care Improvement Act Implementation/Indian Health Service and Gaming.
The chair of the new subcommittee is
Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska). The staff director is Christopher Fluhr.
The meeting takes place at 10am in Room 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building. It will be webcast.
